We know it’s been several months since any of us have posted, and we apologize for that. Through an unrelated chain of events it turned out that all of us got buried on other things at the same time. One of the advantages of having more than one person updating the blog is that generally at least one person had the time to research and make a post. Not so over the last six months.

One of us was developing and launching a new iPad-based app. Another was working with a new company and clients that necessitated much more travel and consumed a huge amount of time. The other was buried with new business opportunities. And unfortunately “The Mobilists” is what suffered.

We’re still passionate about mobile technology, and we are going to start up the blog again with a series of blog posts we think you will find interesting and helpful. One of the things I personally get asked the most about is how to get started with a mobile app. I’ve been helping individuals and companies do this for several years, but in the last year to eighteen months I have gained a new perspective on this as I have launched two of my own.

The best way I know to show people the ropes on launching a mobile app is to use one of these as a case study, and walk you through what I believe to be 10 important considerations to launching a successful app. I’ll uncover at least some of the discussions and thought processes that took place behind the scenes. Having a real case study to point to will make it much more useful to our readers, and hopefully generate some discussion as well.

The app I will be using as a case study is called 4DSales. It is an iPad-based business app. If you want to see more about app, you can visit www.4dsales.com. The first post in the series will begin with where every app must begin, and that is to know and clearly understand the purpose of the app. I hope you’ll join us for the series and ask questions and provide input as we go along.
